25th November, Tickets on sales in the box office nowA bungee jump is an ambition that lots of people would like to achieve but it is not like there is a guy on every street corner promoting his local jump and the idea alone is enough to terrify most of us from going out of our way to go and find one. This is Sheffield RAG though and we love going out of our way for a challenge and we found that dodgy stranger on a street corner! This is what we came up with! THE RAG BUNGEE TEAM!!!
Normally a bungee jump costs around £60-£75 obviously depending on where you are in the world. Sheffield RAG has organised with UK Bungee, (the longest running, safest Bungee Company in the UK, with over 100,000 jumps to their name) a jump just for Sheffield RAG! The best bit is that using our charity credentials we have managed to secure a bargain basement price of £45 per person and even better it is at the largest indoor bungee jump venue in the whole of Europe and it's just down the road at Magna Science Adventure Centre near Meadowhall.
In return for this awesome price, all we at RAG want you to do is to get sponsored as much as you can! There are many good reasons for this
1. Because the charities are brilliant and will really benefit from the money you raise, (see below for how brilliant!)
2. For all those people that thought you were a bit of a wimp this would be the perfect way to prove your friends wrong and get them to sponsor you in the process!
3.We also think that the more you get sponsored the more incentive you’ll have to take the leap into the abyss!
We really want everyone to raise a minimum sponsorship of £30. Simply go to the box office and get your RAG Bungee Team ticket, then take it to the source info desk where you will need to fill out a quick contact details form, and give a guarantee cheque of £30, (we won’t cash this unless you don’t raise the £30 sponsorship money, but you’ll have no problem doing this… failure is not in our vocabulary!) The source will give you a sponsorship pack, which has all sorts of info about the event as well as some handy tips about raising money and more importantly contains the all some sponsorship forms so you can get busy pestering all your family and friends!
…and that’s it you’ve signed up!
D-day for the Bungee jump is the 25th November; we will be meeting all the jumpers at 9am on the Union Concourse and travelling to Magna together via bus. If you do know where Magna is and would rather make your own way there we’ll be starting the ceremonies at 10:30am. It’s free for your friends to come and watch and in fact we encourage you to bring as much moral support possible.
