What's Baby Bummit?
Baby Bummit is a mini hitch-hike that's leaving from the University of Sheffield, and heading down to Bognor Regis. SheffieldRag's first ever Bummit event was to Bognor Regis on the south coast of England, so we thought we would head back to our roots!
When we reach Bognor, everyone will be rewarded with a 3 course meal before we take you to The Mud Club, the highlight of Bognor's nightlife!
When is it?
We leave Sheffield bright and early at 8am on Saturday 15th December and then aim to return to Sheffield for 5pm Sunday
What is this in aid of?!
All money raised is being donated to the Chikupira Foundation, a charity that was founded by a student at the University of Sheffield and raises money to fund a school in Chikupira, Malawi.
How much does it cost?
To secure your place on Baby Bummit, we ask for is £20 which goes towards the cost of running the event. Don't let this put you off though as it includes a 3 course meal in Bognor, Taxi to and from the club, entry to the club, Bed and Breakfast in Bognor and then a return coach ride to Sheffield!
We also ask that you pledge to raise a minimum of £40 in sponsorship money, which we will collect after Xmas.
Why should you do Baby Bummit?
Well first of all, Baby Bummit will be an amazing experience that you'll never forget!
It's all in aid of a brillant cause, which was set up by a University of Sheffield student on his gap year!
It's great practice for Big Bummit which will be taking place over the Easter holidays.
SheffieldRag's first Bummit went to Bognor, so if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for us!
And finally, you get to meet loads of new people and go out on the last Bummit stylee in good old Bognor!
"How is this safe?!" we hear you cry!
Much in the same way as Big Bummit, you will be in teams of 2 or 3 with at least 1 strapping young man in each team!
You will also be given a talk on Weds 12 December by the infamous Safety Dan, instructing you on how to hitch safely!
How do you sign up?
1. Pay your £20 sign up fee in cash to the Union Box Office.
2. The lovely people at the Union Box Office will give you a ticket, which you need to take to the Source where you will be given a sponsorship pack and you need to fill in a registration form so we know who you are!
3. Fill in your details on the sign-up form and hand it back to the Source.
4. Start pestering your friends, family and any random strangers for sponsorship money!
