Welcome to the THE (Treasure Hunt Europe) web site...

So whats this all about?

Treasure Hunt Europe is one of Sheffield RAG’s biggest and most successful events. It is a WORLD RECORD trans-european treasure hunt organized and run by students at Sheffield University aiming to raise money for local and International charities. Leaving from Brussels on the 13th of June 2011 each team (3-5 members) will race to the finish (about 3,000 kilometres away) following cryptic clues to the next location on a route spanning at least 4 countries. The team to reach the final destination first will be the grand winners of £1,000 in cash.

Sounds a bit like Bummit, do we have to hitchhike?

No, you will not need to hitchhike at all because all of your rail transport around Europe will be included in the interrail pass that we give you for your ticket price, however certain train services may require additional reservations or surcharges. It even includes getting you back to the start location.

I'm well up for that, but how much is it going to cost me?

Its only £80 to take part!
Minimum sponsorship is £260

After you've signed up online all you'll need to do is pay your money by cheque into the Union Finance office.

Your ticket include:

  • Your 'One 5 in 10 day' global interrail pass
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • T.H.E T-shirt
  • T.H.E Guide
  • T.H.E Team mating socials
  • T.H.E Goody Bag
  • T.H.E end location hostel
  • AND an amazing end party.

Your ticket does not cover the cost of getting you to the start location.

RAG will organise events and opportunities to help you raise your minimum sponsorship such as putting on RAG Raids in town.

Its for charity right, how do they get any money?

Making money for charity is just as important as fun for us, so everyone who takes part must hand in a cheque for a minimum sponsorship of £260. But that's no reason why you can't raise even more to help out some awesome causes. RAG will help you set up your own justgiving.com page so that it’s easy to get family and friends involved.

If you don’t manage to raise your full sponsorship through your Just Giving account we will cash your cheque to make up the difference. This is why we ask for 3 SEPARATE SPONSORSHIP cheques:

2 × £100 cheque

1 × £60 cheque

(and of course the original £80 cheque for the ticket price!)

Don’t worry if this sounds complicated, it is simply because we don’t want to have to cash a £260 pound cheque and leave you short-changed.

Thats great, but I've got another question?

Just email us at: treasurehunteurope@gmail.com and we'll get back to you as soon as possible with any info.
